Dufour 385 has been spotted in several race result lists...

Post by Michael Boe » Thu Dec 27, 2007 11:02 pm

I made a half hour survey on the web, and found several boats that have been actively racing in the past.

It could be fun to share tricks and experience related to racing the Dufour 385...?

I found:

The Great Huf, UK
Silver Paws, UK
Ladies First, AUT
Dubonnet, AUS
Tuna, IRL
Chablisienne, NOR
Jolly Sailor, NOR

Hi,
in juni 2006 my dufour (atlantis) participate a the bol'dor race in leman lake.
Im not finish the race because at this time a have no spinnaker.
But at the middle of the race in my category i pass the door in 3 position in class 7, in the front of 90 boats, with stock sails and extremely light wind ( 1-5 knots).

If you have any hints on sailing the 385, it would be apreciated.

We have one in our fleet (s/v Sound Effects) which I've sailed in a couple non-competitive races (the winner is selected by a drawing after the race). Honestly, I just can't get her to move very well. I'm not sure if it's the furling main, or if I'm just doing something wrong.

Cheers,
Tim
